The local history exhibition associated with this website is located in the basement of Halmstad Castle.
The exhibition and this website have been created by Föreningen Gamla Halmstad on behalf of Halmstad Municipality’s Cultural Administration.
Visit the exhibition and join us on an exciting journey from the 14th century to the present day. Discover everything from frozen monks to dramatic sieges and enterprising businesswomen.
The new exhibition also features the model of Halmstad as it looked 150 years ago, now renovated and enhanced with new technology.
The exhibition was officially opened on 13 June 2026. Both the website and the exhibition will be expanded with more information this autumn.
